| Drop In Programs | Drop in programs are led by staff who support parents/caregivers in their role and provide age appropriate activities to enhance learning. Both adults and children participate in structured activities such as circle time songs, crafts, rhymes and stories, and unstructured activities such as free play using a variety as toys, props and materials. | Snack time: We promote healthy snacks and food choices. | Family Fitness/ Gross Motor | Families with children aged 2 and up are invited to join in games and activities for large muscle development and coordination. Parents/caregivers participate with their child. Indoor shoes are required for safety. | Check with your local centre if you need child care for younger children. |

| Mother Goose | This program is run as a separate program and/or is part of the drop in programs. Mother Goose includes rhymes, songs, finger plays and acitivities for infants and toddlers. Parents/caregivers interact with their children. Songs and rhymes are multi-cultural and caregivers are encouraged to contribute childhood plays/songs in any language. | |

| Public Health Nurse Nurse Practicioner Visits | Regular visits by the local PHN and NP are scheduled at most centres. Informal discussions and workshops on many topics such as childhood diseases, allergies, immunizations, potty training etc. are available. | Special topics may be requested through your local centre coordinator. |

| School Readiness "Preschool" | All children eligible for JK or SK in September are invited to a fun filled program to help get them ready for school. Preschool gives your child a chance to separate from you for a brief period of time each week, in a comfortable environment. It will help to make the transition to school easier for you and your child. Often during the last session the children will have the opportunity to go on a school bus ride and learn about bus safety. They will also enjoy a visit to the JK/SK classroom if possible. | Please call your local centre for program info and to register your child. |

| Parenting Programs | There is a rich variety of parenting programs available through your local OEYC. Some examples of the regularly offered parenting programs include: Triple P Positive Parenting,1234 Parents, Kids Have Stress Too, How to Speak so Kids will Listen, Saturdays with Dad, Baby Beginnings, Raising Your Spirited Child, etc. There are also regularly scheduled workshops and seminars on topics of interest to parents/caregivers. | See calendar or call your local centre for more info. |

| School Age Programs | After school programs, weekend programs, and special programs in partnership with schools, libraries, Health Units, and municipalities are offered in our communities i.e. Kids in the Kitchen, Hug-a-Tree and Survive, music programs, babysitting courses. | See calendar or call you local centre for more info. |

| Clothing Exchange | Our centres try to offer an ongoing clothing exchange, for children's clothing, ages 0 to 12 years. It takes place over one or two days and allows families the opportunity to pass on unused/gently used clothing, shoes, skates, etc. and to pick up items of use to them. Everyone is welcome, no fees are charged, and people do not have to bring something to take items.
